Commissioner MENDES delivering the opening address

The proceedings, held by videoconference, began on Wednesday 28 April 2021. The opening ceremony was chaired by Joãozinho MENDES, Commissioner in charge of the Department of Regional Market and Cooperation (DMRC).

In addition to sharing the results of the ex post evaluation of the Community competition policy of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), the meeting will define an action plan for implementing the recommendations of the evaluation report.

The meeting, which ends on 30 April 2021, will also make recommendations to foster a competition culture and to improve the current competition regulation framework in the Union.
